Lightwater Tarns Country Park provides owner occupied lodge accommodation, based near Kendal the "gateway to the Lakes". We Terry, Anne and our son Andrew would like to welcome you. Our friendly country park offers a small exclusive development, where you can own a luxury lodge in a setting which offers "absolute tranquillity" and seclusion, with no camping or touring, so that you are always amongst the same friends and neighbours. Lightwater Tarns Country Park is surrounded by miles of Cumbria’s unspoilt countryside and within easy reach of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Pennine Way and M6 motorway.
Our park is situated on our working livestock farm and is located beside two specially created private fishing lakes with the breath-taking backdrop of the Whinfell and Howgill Fells. The delightful Lightwater stream, which supports the rare white-clawed crayfish, meanders all around the farm's south-western boundary. There is an abundance of wildlife including Pheasant, Woodpecker, Squirrel, Rabbit, Deer, Canadian Geese to Oystercatcher and Mallard ducks nesting on the islands in the newly created lakes. We have been awarded the David Bellamy Silver Conservation Award.. This scheme is awarded to holiday parks that prove their commitment to enhancing the natural world. Kendal is only 4 miles from our Park, offering all amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, leisure centre with swimming pool, golf, museums, designer clothes, shops etc. Horse riding is available nearby.
